I have never been a Hype Beast, mainly because I am usually ahead of the curve on these types of things, but I just wanted to offer my recent opinion on the state of street fashion?I have coined a phrase that I hope will blow up for the recent trends in this genre:
Transient Chic - (trAn-Z-ent Sh-E-K) (noun): A style of fashion popular from late 2008 to current; characterized by one or more of the following:
Heavily worn or moderately worn running or soccer shoes, such as Waffles, Sambas, etc.
Jeans that are too tight, presumably because they were bought many years earlier when the individual was thinner and had more money and/or support of parents, or which fit and have excessive holes and tears from over-use.
A heavy or light flannel plaid long sleeve shirt which may or may not have been worn by an out of work lumberjack or a laid off truck driver.
Scruffy, unkempt facial hair, which is to pass as an ?Indie Rock? look, even though said individual has never experienced such things.
Long, greasy hair?enough said.
