@theyoungestkim on twitter.
I flew out Jason Yang with my partner, Dan Vang, to the Mid-west/South because we knew that talent like his just had to inspire the community out here... and it did. We had a phenomenal weekend as we traveled from Tulsa to Arkansas. He performed at a benefit where all proceeds went to Hmong kids in a refugee camp in Thailand, they'll see his video as well! Then later that night, we partied until the sun came up at an event we hosted called the White Affair where Jason Yang, again, awed the crowd. Mission accomplished, love shared. Thank you Jason! Thank you Bumpley! Thank you all!

Conceptualized by artist Stephen Powers, Love Letter is a month-long public art project that is in joint collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. 40 local and international artists are now in the process of writing a love letter that stretches through fifty walls, all of which face the Market elevated train.

The Love Letter project is a refreshing take on street art, and has undoubtedly stolen the hearts of West Philly residents. Thoughts and slogans on love have been painted throughout the busy streets, and are perfect for brightening up a morning commute. The project will also feature a sign school, a documentary-style film and youth training. Sounds cool, huh? ? PATCH

The Longest Way, a video made by Christoph Rehage as he walked 5,000km across China. He took a picture of himself each day (from the same angle), and made a video of the photos. It's fascinating.

They're one of the biggest singing sensations all over Asia and the Wonder Girls are here touring with the Jonas Brothers. Do you think they'll finally break way in the US? Talks about working with Disney, etc. They're really trying to become a household American name-- check it out and let me know what you think!

Its great that they're getting this opportunity! I mean, a few years ago this wouldn't even be discussed. AND I'm actually quite jealous you got to see them live! hehe :D How fun!

August 13, 2009 1:32 PM
I think they can be. People just need to see them live, cause they're really cute and charismatic in person. I saw them perform with the Jonas Brothers and it made me like them more, than just seeing a music video. If they work with Disney, they got it in the bag haha.

But is it fair to make an obese person pay for 2 seats?
dj jbr05ki
August 13, 2009 12:32 AM
It's a thin line between fries and shakes.
min kim
August 13, 2009 12:28 AM
Yeah, its a thin line between someone taking responsibility of themselves and also the airline providing a product that is suitable for their consumer. I understand the whole "they should make seats bigger" or perhaps "they should have bigger seats available" but... at the same time, perhaps coming from their standpoint, its almost getting to the point of where do you draw the line? But I totally have to agree with you Geraldine, that the obese passenger SHOULD know already what they require.

August 12, 2009 1:43 PM
i think when booking a flight, won't an obese passenger know whether or not he/she can fit in one seat or might need an extra one? why inconvenience an unsuspecting potential neighbor when the obese person knows all along whether or not he/she might invade someone's personal space? they should just make the seats bigger and charge everyone the same.
dj buddy
August 11, 2009 2:54 PM
I think obese passengers should get an extra seat. Some people are big, some are small, an airplane is designed to accomodate small people comfortably. It's def the airline's responsibility to make sure passengers are comfortable, especially with the price we pay for tickets. They want us to believe they are having a hard time, with fuel prices up and all that, and while it may hold relatively true, I'm sure they still make good profits. So yeah, homechick felt uncomfy, imagine being the big guy. He knows she couldnt watch TV, and that his leg was in the way, and that he was all up in her real estate. Imagine how self conscious he must have felt.
